Why Daarna

A place to stay connected to who we are.

“Daarna” means Our Home in Arabic — a community-led initiative to create a shared cultural and educational space for Sudanese people in London. It’s a welcoming home that celebrates culture, unity and identity, where young and old come together through Qur’an sessions, cultural workshops and community events that honour our roots while inspiring our future.

With everything happening in Sudan today, Daarna feels more important than ever: a way for the diaspora to stay connected, share pride in our heritage, and strengthen the bonds that keep our community together.

“A place to celebrate our heritage, connect generations, and strengthen our identity.”
دارنا Our home, for every generation.
