Privacy notice

What we collect

Your name, email address, and your donation’s amount, date and payment method. If you contact us about volunteering, we also keep your name, email and any message you send.

Why we use it

To process and record donations, send receipts, keep the financial records we are required to keep, and reply to volunteer enquiries.

For volunteering we rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. For donations we rely on our legitimate interest in running our fundraising, and on our legal obligation to keep accounts.

Who we share it with

We never sell your data. We use trusted services to run things:

• Zeffy, our donations platform, which takes card payments through Stripe and also holds our records of bank-transfer donations.
• Google, which stores our donation and volunteer records.
• Our email provider.

Some of these services may process data outside the UK, with appropriate safeguards in place.

How long we keep it

We keep donation records for 6 years, as required for company accounts. We keep volunteer details until you ask us to remove them, or for 2 years after we were last in contact.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Email info@daarna.org.uk.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
